Sparkles and Assets
She was full of life, passion and eager to learn more. She was energetic and squealed with delight when I gave her first pair of Kendra Scott earrings. My note to her read, “Never let anyone dull your sparkle. Stay passionate and true to yourself. It’s what sets you apart.”
I was told the same sweet words by an elderly woman on an elevator ride to the 49th floor back in 2001. This woman didn’t know me anymore than I knew her, but she saw something in me…just like I see something in this sweet one.
Life’s most amazing riches are certainly nothing of money, rather when life is happening and you are THERE, not as an observer, but fully in it. Deep in the moments. Maybe you used to care what people think about you. I am too naïve. Did I come across to harsh? My delivery was all wrong. If I’m friendly, they’ll think I’m a pushover. And so many other things going on in our heads. Get out of your own head and just be there. Authentic as you can imagine. Raw and uncomfortable as it may feel. BE THERE.
We often times forget the most important things in life aren’t really things at all. It isn’t the money you have, the stuff you buy or the power you’ve created. No. It’s having the ability to look in the mirror, give it your all and know it was enough. It’s looking in the mirror and seeing that same authentic being look back at you. Truly remarkable.
Don’t forget just how remarkable you are.
Stay sparkly baby,
